After months of build-up, the Strawberry Community Cycle Event on the 4th of September. Over 360 riders gathered at the Recreation Ground to participate in the different routes throughout the morning: a dispersed group of early birds for the 55 and 28 mile rides were soon followed by those taking part in the 14 and 7 mile. A fantastic range of people of all ages and stages, with a shared sense of triumph in ultimately crossing the finish line. Many stayed on to enjoy the post-ride barbecue, featuring scones and strawberries among other delights.
We continue to be blown away by the positive feedback we have received since the event, and would like to extend our thanks to the organisers, those involved in running and assisting the event, and each fantastic rider who participated. Thank you in particular to our co-organisers, the Histon and Impington Bicycle Club. We eagerly look forward to the Strawberry Community Cycle Event returning in 2023.
