Around 1980, an elderly village resident, Mrs. Muncey, left a significant amount of money in her will to the Cambridgeshire Red Cross. The money was left on the specific condition that it be used for the benefit of older residents in Histon and Impington. The Red Cross decided the provision of a community minibus, to be available across the two villages for the use of older residents, would fulfil the Muncey Bequest as it was known.
The vision of Mrs. Muncey contributed directly to where HI Friends is today, and the extensive wellbeing support provided in the community.
