Sophie Howell, our Mental Wellbeing Services Coordinator
As the Mental Wellbeing Services Coordinator for HI Friends, Sophie aims to continue to develop awareness and services for residents of Histon & Impington to support wellbeing across all ages. She is passionate about breaking down the stigmas that still exist around mental health and wellbeing, and strives to make Histon & Impington a mental wellbeing friendly community.
Sophie has been part of the HI Friends team since 2020. She is a qualified social worker and counsellor, and has experience supporting people of all ages and in all walks of life to promote positive mental wellbeing. She has undertaken a variety of roles in mental health charities, in addition to working with students in primary and secondary schools. Born and raised in Histon and Impington, the wellbeing of the community is close to her heart.
Alongside Sophie’s work in the community, she spends a lot of her time working at IVC and Brook and Park Primary Schools delivering wellbeing programmes, workshops and training.
Ultimately, Sophie’s role is to provide mental wellbeing awareness, services and initiatives within the community. Please contact her if she can provide information on what services are currently available, or if you have ideas or suggestions of initiatives the community might benefit from.
