Village Dementia Week

  • Published

HI Friends would like to thank everyone who supported the Dementia Week, in particular Bramley Court and Etheldred House for their help in organising the week.

Over 400 attended the wide spectrum of events, including the Dementia Music Afternoon, where the audience enjoyed one care home resident playing a piece on the piano from Schubert. Other highlights were the visit of the miniature donkeys, and on the other side the reality of dementia portrayed in the film ‘ The Father’, and the Virtual Dementia Experience.

The Plant Sale was also a huge success, and we want to thank all those who came to buy and donate plants. The sale raised over £550, which will go towards funding dementia support work in the villages.

Our thanks to the Health & Care Social Students from IVC for actively participating in the week, HI Friends looks forward to working with them in the future.

It was a special week for the village. If you would like to support HI Friends in their dementia work, please get in touch: info@hifriends.org.uk
